Summer Art Camp

Four hours a day of fine art, five days a week for adults and children alike. Parent/child combination welcome. Choice of watercolor, pastel, pen and ink, charcoal, color pencils and more. Make a series of paintings on a theme or explore all manner of textures, themes, media, going with your interest of the moment.

Saturday and Monday Open Art Studio

Explore sketching and painting in watercolor, pastel, acrylic, charcoal, color pencils and almost any other media. Drop in with your art projects or for a formal class. Bring your ideas and dreams, goal and puzzlement. If you don't know where to start I have many exercises to get you started in the medium of your choice. Landscape, portrait, work from photos or imagination or fantasy.

Drawing in the Meadow

Take time for a summer art experience in nature at the beautiful Greensprings Natural Cemetery Preserve. One day a week for several weeks, dates to be determined.

Bio

A French native from Quebec, Canada, with an art degree from college du Vieux Montreal, Camille has happily called the green hills of NY state her home since 1986. She continues the art adventure that started a long time ago in her childhood kitchen. She had a conversion experience from oil to watercolor in 1993 and soon after started teaching painting privately in Ithaca, NY. She now teaches all year open art studio classes on Mondays and Saturdays, and summer art camps weekly programs for all ages.

She received the O’Hern Memorial award from the Arnot Museum in Elmira, NY. She is the past president of the GNSI (Guild of Natural Science Illustrators) of the Finger Lakes, where she presided for 7 years. Apart from teaching at Cornell Plantations, she has lead landscape/plain air and botanical painting workshops around the state. She taught at CSMA, at the Herbert F Johnson Museum of Art, and at the Cornell Botanic Gardens.

Camille has freelanced for different departments of Cornell University and responds favorably to painting commissions. She paints as a way to conjure up the hopefulness that springs from the natural world.
